Eric Stout

William "Eric" Stout, 20, of Jonesborough, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Scott County Virginia. He touched a lot of lives and was known as a gentle giant with a wonderful sense of humor. Eric enjoyed racing, especially at "The World's Fastest Dirt Track" Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, and at Kingsport Speedway. He also loved hanging out with his many friends. He was a graduate of David Crockett High School, class of 2022, and an employee of Coca-Cola.

He was preceded in death by Grandmother Jane Payne, Uncle Mark Stout, Grandparents Kenneth and Linda Clark, and Great-grandparents Vasie and Mildred Clark.

He is survived by his father, Ken Stout; mother Carrie Taylor (Scott); grandmother Dorothy Taylor, aunts and uncles, Kevin Payne (Becky), Janet Payne, Vonda Stout, Judy Morrow, Larry Cox and Jack and Renee Cox; cousins Tina Mendez (Jeremiah), their daughter Olivia, Aaron Payne, Phillip Stout, Kricket Bryant, Roman Orcutt, Clarice Stonecypher, Taylor Bryant (Hailey), and Allison Bryant; Mimi Barby Graybeal, Aunt Nicki Smith (John); special uncles David Miller and Robbie Williams; special family members Julie Rollins, Becky Rollins, Shalimar Bowers, and Wesley Bowers; along with many other special friends and family members, too many to mention.

Eric's family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Limestone United Methodist Church - 189 Opie Arnold Road, Limestone, TN 37681 - from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Lon Tobin and Pastor Scott Thompson officiating.
