Velma Jean Gillin

Mrs. Velma Jean Gillin, age 79, of Telford, passed away at the Ballad Health Hospice House, Bristol, TN, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Jean was born in Washington County, TN, to the late James and Velma Adams Kinnick. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Wayne Gillin, and a brother, Dean Kinnick.

Jean was a member of New Hope Brethren Church, where she enjoyed greeting those who came into the church. She worked for forty years at Magnavox and then retired from John Deere.

Survivors include her husband, of 59 years, Roger Gillin, son Ronald "Ronnie" Gillin; daughter-in-law Ginny Gillin; grandchildren, Bryant Gillin (Alea), Austin Gillin (Madie) Kayla Shirley (Brandley), Charlsie Gillin, Katelyn Gillin, Emily Gillin; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Shirley, Elias Shirley, and Maggy Mae Gillin, two brothers, Steve Kinnick (Carolyn), and Mike Kinnick, one sister in law Carolyn Kinnick; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for Jean will be Friday, August 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Limestone Covenant Brethren Church Cemetery, 204 Oakland Road, Limestone, TN 37681 with Pastor John H. Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
