Mr. Tyler James Moody, age 44, of Bristol, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Tyler was born in Johnson City, TN, to Mike and Jill Luster Moody. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Phyllis Luster, and Jim Moody, a special “Aunt Bebbie" Evelyn Edwards, and cousin Lainey Guilliams.
Tyler was a 1999 graduate of Daniel Boone High School. He was employed by Dr. Dry Restoration in Kingsport. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Limestone.
Tyler was a wonderful husband and dad. He had a deep love for his family and friends and loved spending time with them. His quick wit and infectious laugh made every day fun and memorable. He also had a passion for all kinds of music and was involved in the music scene in and around Bristol. He hosted a radio show, "Random Rules" with the Birthplace of Country Music. He was an active volunteer and community leader in the Bristol area. He was a member of Bristol & Kingsport Chambers and the Bristol Optimist Club.
Survivors including his parents are his wife of 21 years Hollie Moody, son Henry James Moody, daughter Iris Moody Dean and grandson Wyatt James;
brothers Ben Moody (Summer) and their children Dakota, Mason and Max; Eric Moody (Chelsea) and their children Wesley, Harper and Jaclyn; grandmother Tommy Moody; mother-in -law Pam Brown, father-in-law Doug Burnette (Sharon), sister-in-law Cassi Burnette and her daughter Kayden;
aunts and uncles:
Brian Moody and his family Lauren, Bria, and Jude; Shelley Winegar (Bob) and their children and grandchildren: Heather and Nathan Honaker (Molly and Josie), Kristal and Jim Woods (Kate and Jack); Beth Guilliams (Jason) and their children and grandchildren: Andy and Chelsea Guilliams (Adalyn and Mason), Brayden and Taylor Guilliams ( Loreli); and special friends, especially the ‘man dinner gang’.

Tyler had a huge heart for those less fortunate, so memorial donations in his honor can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol and Second Harvest Food Bank.
A private Memorial service for the Family will be held. Those wishing to pay their respects may stop by Jonesborough Funeral Home Sunday November 23, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. 1776 Hwy 11-E Jonesborough, TN 37659.
A memorial Service will be held in Bristol at a later date.
