Obituary of Tina Marie Henson-Tittle
January 30, 1968 – September 10, 2024
Tina Marie Henson-Tittle, 56, as kind and caring a person as anyone has ever known, passed
away on September 10th after a brief illness.
Tina was born in West Chester, PA. At an early age she moved with her mom and her brother
Tony down south to Tennessee. She would often spend summers with her Daddy and kept
strong ties with her family, north, south, and even abroad. She attended Unicoi County public
schools, West Chester University, and ETSU. She loved to travel, but after moving around a lot,
Tina finally put down roots in Jonesborough, TN.
Tina’s life revolved around her family. Her son Anthony was the light of her life. A week did not
go by without Tina shooting off proud mama pics of her son to her friends and family. She often
called herself Mama Bear – and that she was, protective of her most prized possession. Tina
spent most of her time with Anthony and her “soulmate forever” Kenny. When Tina met Kenny,
her family was complete. He loved her from the day he met her. They doted on and cared for
each other with gentle kindness and true affection. The family grew as they took on pets. Rue,
Coco, Yao Ming, the kittens, and even the cows down the field loved Tina. Whether curled up in
front of a movie, watching balloons soaring across the backyard with a steak on the grill, or on
a road trip to one of their favorite spots, Tina enjoyed life with her family.
Tina was a true people person. You would often hear her say, “You are my people.” She did not
think we would catch on to the fact that we were all her people because to Tina, we were all
special. She was also a diligent worker, holding a variety of jobs through the years, and was
quite creative. This combination led her to start two of her own businesses, Funky Junk and
more recently, the BluHazel Candle Co. BluHazel quickly became successful and earned her TV
fame. Tina was in her groove. Always a dreamer, she made things happen, and this business
was happening.
Everyone that met Tina loved her. She made friends easily. She wasn’t the life of the party.
Rather, she was the party and brought it to you. Always the hostess, she had a knack for
making people “be at home” around her. She demanded it. No one walked away without
feeling like they were just handed some small gift – and many times – they actually were.
In recent years, Tina became closer to God. She shared favorite Bible passages with friends.
She often spoke of the Lord. She believed in the power of prayer, felt comfort in her rosary, and
found that her beliefs grounded her and changed her life.
In addition to her son C. Anthony Henson and her husband Kenneth Tittle, Tina is survived by
children, Lindsay Bradley and Joseph Tittle (Rosie); her mother Sharon Griffith; her father Charles
Henson (Marianne); her brothers Tony Henson (Erica), Kevin Henson (Amanda), and Jon Aberts
(Gerianne); and her sisters, Shannon Jones (Manuel), Jenni Kerns (Tim), and Kelly Schenk
(Stefan). Tina is also survived by nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own, Jacob,
Braedon, Sadie, Brittany, Ryan, Keith, Cody, Levi, Abigail, Derek, and Clara; grandchildren
Spencer, Nathan, Brylan, Maddie, and Katie as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Jonesborough Funeral
Home from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor John H. Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
