Some people leave behind memories; others leave behind a piece of themselves in everyone fortunate enough to have known them. Momma was one of those people.
Ms. Nora Faye Phillips, age 67, of Johnson City , joined her loved ones in heaven on Wednesday, September 30,2026 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Loving Grammie, Momma, Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, Great Great Aunt, and Friend, Ms. Phillips was born in Johnson City, to the late Mary Ruth White, She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Riley Garland ,Brothers - Otis Hyder and Wife Kay, Gary Hyder and Larry Hyder; Sisters- Janice Bawgus and husband Harold and Joyce Barry.
Ms. Phillips was of Christian faith. She retired from Levi Strauss Company and then worked for NHC Healthcare until she decided to stay home and spend time with her grandbabies. That is what she enjoyed most.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children Mariel Garland and husband Jackie, Michael Phillips and wife Allison, her grandchildren Jadon, Jakobe, Jaxon and Jace, One brother Ronnie Hyder and wife Sharron, a special friend Jackie Taylor, and lots of Nieces and Nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews whom she cherished and loved dearly.
She loved deeply and was always there by our sides no matter what. She continues to care for and watch over us, it's just from a different view now. She will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday October 10, 2026 at Jonesborough Funeral Home 1776 Hwy 11-E Jonesborough.
