Michael Lee McCracken

Mr. Mike McCracken, age 72, of Jonesborough, passed away from this earthly home to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with his family by his side.

Mike was born in Washington County to the late Carl and Ann Johnson McCracken. He was also preceded in death by a brother Randy McCracken.

Mike retired from the Town of Jonesborough after 44 years. He was the superintendent of the water department.

Mike was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church since 1964. He held many positions over the years, including Sunday school teacher, and was currently serving as a deacon. He was always willing to help with whatever needed to be done. He truly loved his Lord.

Mike loved working in the garden and watching the plants grow.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Marilyn Edwards McCracken, one daughter Amy McCurry and her husband Josh, one grandson who was his pride and joy, Zach Ford whom he called "Little Bit" and Zach's fiancé, Aryana Ley; two brothers, Larry McCracken and Steve McCracken and wife Joan, two sisters, Carol Brown and husband Dean, and Sandra Davis; nephew Stacey Edwards who was like a son and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Ballad Health Cancer Care, Dr Bradley Beeler, Chris Gabler, and Smoky mountain Hospice.

In Lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery fund, 437, Washington College Station Road, Limestone Tennessee, 37681 c/o Pam Bitner.

Funeral Service for Mike will be Saturday February 14, 2026 2:00 Pm at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 437 Washington College Station Road, Limestone, TN with Pastor Charles Morgon and Pastor Sam Smith officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stacey Edwards, Gabe Edwards, Zach Ford, Josh McCurry, Denis Edwards, Roger McBride, Jerry Bitner, and Ardie White.
