Lonnie Keller, 42, of Johnson City, TN passed away suddenly October 5th, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born on December 28th, 1983, in Florida, Lonnie was the beloved son of Hugh Keller and Elise Bedsole, both whom survive him. Along with his stepmother Tammy Keller. Lonnie is also survived by his brother, Hugh Jurecko Keller, his wife Samantha, and his three nephews Jon, Jayden, and Jayce. Mother-in-law Belinda Duncan and sister-in-law Brandi Greer. Lonnie is preceded in death by his grandparents Carlos and Bernettia Williams and Frank and Edith Keller.
Lonnie was a devoted husband, father, and friend. One thing that could never be questioned about him was his love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Brittany Keller and his three children, Christian, 11, Gabriel, 9, and Jessica,19, who were undoubtedly his pride and joy.
Lonnie proudly served seven years in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst, a role he loved and took great pride in. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to serving others by working at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he had the opportunity to care for and support his fellow veterans. Service was an important part of Lonnie’s life, and his commitment to helping others extended far beyond his career.
Lonnie was truly one of a kind. He was always the life of the party, and ready to crack a joke for any occasion. He had a smile that could brighten a room and he never met a stranger. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome. Whether you had known him for years or just met him, Lonnie had a way of making you feel like an old friend.
If something was broken, Lonnie was the person you called. He was always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem, or show up when someone needed him, day or night. He never hesitated to help others, and his generosity, humor, and loyalty made him someone people could count on.
When he wasn’t spending time with his family and friends, Lonnie enjoyed music, playing guitar, camping, and pursing his passion for firearms and cars. He found joy in the things he loved and shared the enthusiasm with the people around him.
Lonnie’s life was defined not only by his service to his country and fellow veterans, but also by the countless moments of laughter, the friendships he built, and all the people he helped along the way. His absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved him, but the stories, jokes, and memories he leaves behind will continue to bring smiles even through the tears. Though his time here was much too short, the impact he made will not be measured in years, but in the lives he touched and the love he gave. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A memorial service honoring Lonnie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14th, at the old cemetery near the main entrance of the Mountain Home VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at his father Hugh’s home for fellowship, refreshments, and an opportunity to share memories of Lonnie.
