Linda Sue Bennett

Linda Bennett, 72, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday morning, March 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family after a period of declining health. She was a member of Berea Free Will Baptist Church. Linda retired from Lenoir Empire Furniture.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Depew (step-father, Leonard Draper); father, Claude Garland Sr. (step-mother, Mary); and one brother, Claude Garland Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Eddie Bennett; daughters, Tina Slagle (Ray), and Lisa Smith (Bret); granddaughters, Emma Howard (Austin), Amanda Davis (Arron); great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Howard; great-grandson, Greyson Ray Davis; twin sister, Brenda Garland; sisters, Rosie Randall, Tammie Garland; brother, Dale Garland (Melissa); along with several nieces and nephews.

The Bennett family will honor Linda's life with a Graveside Service on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Barnett Cemetery 2116 Spencer Ln. Johnson City, TN 37604, beginning at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone who wishes to attend the Graveside Service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m.
