Kevin Michael Ortegel

Mr. Kevin Michael Ortegel Sr, age 69, of Rogersville, TN passed away at his residence on Saturday February 14, 2026.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Peter Ronald and Annamae Barrett Ortegel. He was also preceded in death by one son, Justin Ortegel, a granddaughter, Mia Browning, a brother, Ronald Ortegel, and a sister Mary Kathrine Ortegel.

Kevin proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a retired electrician.

Kevin was a loving and giving man. He was proud to have served his country and proud of his family. He often helped others even at his own expense. In his younger years he enjoyed gardening, being on the water(fishing, swimming, and canoeing), spending time with his kids, and enjoyed being physically fit. He loved being outdoors. He was a coin collector, a lover of classic rock, and woodworker. One of his favorite things was grilling out.

Survivors include his children, Kevin Michael Ortegel Jr and wife Tiffany, Kristine Ortegel Browning, and their mother, Rhonda Franklin and Robert Peters; grandchildren, Kyle Ortegel, AJ Morford, Reece Browning, Kaydan Ortegel, Kayleigh Ortegel, Desarae Landrum "Dizzy Dez", and Paul Wolford; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Ortegel, Kolton Ortegel, and Emery Morford; brother, Kenneth Ortegel, one sister Jackie Hayord, life long friend Paul Ventura and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
