Mrs. Jeannett Howell, age 80, of Jonesborough, passed away on Friday April 3, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Jeannett was born in Bakersville North Carolina to the late Zeke and Minnie Peterson Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth Luster, son Billy Joe Hughes, sister Pauline Barbour, brothers Bill and Stewart Howell. and an infant brother Jerry Howell.
Jeannett was a member of Bringing in the Strays Cowboy Church, she loved her church family. She enjoyed baking and going thrifting and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son John Hughes Jr. and wife Shirley, grandchildren Tiffany Love and husband Kevin, Shyla Crawford, and John Hughes II, great grandchildren, Loralie and Allison Love, Jazmyne, Shyanne, Jayson, Bradyn, Tailynn, Brantley, and Max, great great grandchild Zaylee; one brother Tim Howell.
Funeral service for Jeanett will be Wednesday April 8, 2026 6:00 PM at Jonesborough Funeral Home with Pastor Sparky Barnes officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service.
