Jane Hensley

Jane "Mawie" Hensley, 79, of Jonesborough, passed away on Friday morning, September 6, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born to the late Dean Hunt and Ethel Correll.

Jane attended New Hope Church of the Brethren. She retired from H&R Block after over twenty-five years of dedicated service. Jane had a strong love for quilting, riding motorcycles, and her family. She was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary VFW Post 9724, Erwin Elks, and Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her step father, Cecil Correll; sister, Deanna Hunt Shipley; and brother, Richard "Dicky" Hunt.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of over sixty-one years, Johnny "Snuffy" Hensley; sons, Pete Hensley, Jimbo Hensley (Natalie); the daughter she never had, Ginger Hixson; her granddaughter, Mindy Story (Jonathon); great-grandchildren, Ivan and Presley Kyker, Jon, Sarah, Malakia and Cashton; sister, Kim Correll (Leroy); along with many special friends and extended family.

The Hensley family will receive friends on Monday, September 9, 2024, at New Hope Brethren Church, 352 New Hope Road Jonesborough, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Dykes and Pastor John H. Moore officiating. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in New Victory Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 11 a.m. Pete Hensley, Jimbo Hensley, Ivan Kyker, Jonathon Story, Jordan Kyker, and Billy Harris will serve as pallbearers. Everyone who wishes to attend the Graveside Service is asked to meet at Jonesborough Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, by 10:30 a.m.
