James "Pete" Odom, 78, of Jonesborough, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 29, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born to the late Orville and Gertrude (Hammitt) Odom.
James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He attended Fairview Methodist Church. James retired from the Johnson City School System as a Maintenance Electrician after thirty-four years of dedicated service.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Odom.
Survivors include his loving wife, Anna Ruth Odom; daughter, Tonya McKinney (Darrell); son, Chuck Odom; grandchildren, Ben Odom (Kayley), Tyler Odom, Brittany Ramsey (Brian), and Kacie Callaway; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Tanner, Lynnix, Arabella, and Adalynn; along with several nieces and nephews.
The Odom family will receive friends on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Jonesborough Funeral Home from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. A Graveside Service honoring James' life will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Randal Emmertt officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
