Elizabeth Taylor Payne

Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor Payne, age 84, Telford, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Four Oaks Nursing Home, Jonesborough.

Mrs. Payne was born in Washington, DC, to the late Ralph Murray and Ella Louis Stewart Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Payne Sr.

Elizabeth enjoyed her plants and flowers, gardening, NASCAR, and watching Tennessee Football.

Elizabeth grew up in the Methodist Church and later attended Bowmantown Baptist Church and Fountain of Life Bible Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Lori Payne, son Russell Payne Jr, and his wife Leisa; grandchildren, Kristina Tackett and husband Frankie, Nicole Campbell and husband Phillip, Rebecca Hyatt, and Samantha Hyatt; great grandchildren, Janiya Mason, Waylon Meyer; sisters, Linda Rathgeber and husband Gordon, Joan Breen and brother Robert Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for Mrs. Payne will be Thursday July 3, 2025 10:00 AM at Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor John H Moore Officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
