Mr. Douglas Edger Godfrey, age 63, of Elizabethton, formally of Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, surrounded by his sisters at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Godfrey was born in Clearwater, Florida, to the late James Clyde Godfrey and Betty Jane Johnson Crain. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James "Kevin" Godfrey.
Mr. Godfrey had several jobs over the years, but the one he liked to talk about was building ships, a job he enjoyed.
Survivors include his sisters, Rebecca Miller and husband Mitchell, Twyla Willis and Husband Danny, and Nikki Rose and her husband Ken, one brother Bryan Godfrey; special aunt and uncle, Joann Bowman, and Craig Johnson, and serval nieces and nephews.
Also the family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents at Hillview Health & Rehabilitation for the excellent care they provided for approximately 10 years.
Graveside service will be Friday April 10, 2026 11:00AM at Urbana Cemetery, Limestone, TN with Pastor Gary Edwards officiating.
