Mrs. Doris G. Shelton, age 89, of Jonesborough, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Courtyard Senior Living in Johnson City, Tennessee.
She was born in Germany on July 25, 1937, to the late Gustav Potreck and Kathe Bohnke Potreck. She came to the US in 1959 with her husband, Harschell "Jack" Shelton.
Doris is survived by one sister, Erica, and a niece, Maidi, both of Germany. Cousin, Brigitte Storms, niece Teresa Storms of Louisville KY and nephew Michael Thieeke of Tucson, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity in Doris's name.
Funeral service for Mrs. Shelton will be Monday October 26, 2026 11:00am at Living Word Lutheran Church, 5210 N Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37615 with Pastor Andrew Steve officiating. Graveside service will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens.
