Mr. Cloyd Gaines Cox, age 87, of Limestone, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Gaines was born in Sullivan County, TN, to the late Cloyd M. and Verna S. Cox. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Cox, and two brothers, Weldon and Dean Cox.
Gaines retired 1998 from Eastman, was a member of the National Guard, and was a F&AM member of White Side Lodge #13.
Survivors include his wife Jane Broyles Cox, step-son Randall Broyles, step-daughter Kelly Aiken, and husband Jim, step-grandsons Stetson Broyles, and wife Michelle, and Wyatt Aiken, step-great-grandchildren Cade and Vada Broyles. sister-in-law Charlotte Cox, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday March 24, 2026 at Jonesborough Funeral Home. Graveside will follow at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
