Betty Ann Carson, 74, of Jonesborough, passed away on Monday evening, March 23, 2026, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late William and Rushia (Dennison) Hale. Betty was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. She retired from the Washington County School System after many years as a Special Education Assistant and Bus Driver. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Hale.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Gary Carson; daughters, Jennifer Ayers (Aaron), Jessica Hallett (Rob), and Joni Carson; grandchildren, Lane, Jordan, Aaden, Alex, Ethan, Blake, and Brody.

The Carson family will gather to greet friends and share memoires on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Jonesborugh Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow the Visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Darin Harrison officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be on Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Garden of the Apostles in East Lawn Memorial Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. Lane Edmonds, Aaden Ayers, Alex Ayers, Ethan Hallett, Blake Hallett, and Rob Hallett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin and Jordan Edmonds. Everyone who wishes to attend the Committal Service is asked to meet at cemetery by 11:50 a.m. on Friday morning.

The Carson family would like to extend a special thank you to Lane's girlfriend Sydney Mashburn for all her help, as well as the Ballad Cancer Center in Kingsport, and to nurse Amelia and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
